  Reception: Feb. 12, 4-6 p.m. This series of digitally manipulated black and white photographs finds "elements of the human figure in strange and visually challenging arrangements." The artist will speak on Monday, Feb. 13 at 9:45 a.m. in the Hibbard Campus Center. The gallery is open during Library hours.

  Subtitled "Lewis Wickes Hine's Crusade Against Child Labor," this exhibition by the nationally-renowned sociologist features photos taken over 10 years working for the National Child Labor Commission to document the harsh conditions in which children worked at the turn of the last century.

  On loan from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, this exhibit explores contemporary understandings of beauty by framing the notion of aesthetics, race, class, and gender within art, popular culture, and political contexts. This exhibit features approximately 84 works drawn from public and private collections.

  Reception: Feb. 24, 4:30-6:30 p.m. This series of photographs and photo encaustic works by Michael Mirabito explores the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Treblinka World War II concentration camp sites as they appear today. A Gallery Talk will be held on Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.

  New Visions Studio and Gallery

  Scheduled for a Grand Reopning in its new downtown Scranton location on May 6, 2011. Founded in September 2010 in Taylor by recent Boston art school graduates Melanie Boisseau and Adam Weitzenkorn, the studio offers membership access to a community darkroom, welding shop, and drawing/painting studio. Clinics for youth and adult artists are available.
